No. As of 1 January 2026, the exemption from reporting foreign-source income has been abolished. Although foreign-source income remains exempt from Israeli tax for 10 years, new immigrants are now required to report their foreign assets from the first day of Israeli residency.

How long must I live abroad to qualify for the tax benefits available to a "Veteran Returning Resident"?

What is the "Year of Adjustment," and is it recommended?

The Year of Adjustment allows a new immigrant or Veteran Returning Resident to elect not to be treated as an Israeli tax resident during their first year in Israel.

How does IRS Form 1116 relate to money transfers for a new immigrant working in Israel in 2026?
